Theme: "Inviting Others Into God's Work"

Description: Every organization we work with wonders, "How can we invite others into this work?" That can be a pastor looking for lay leaders, a council looking for other leaders, a new idea looking for startup leaders, or a congregation thinking about outreach to shared work and relationships in the community. This half day retreat will help you better understand the dynamics of shared work, inviting others to join in, and outreach to the neighbors in ways that encourage invovlement and ministry "with" in ways that expand your capacity.

Content will include:

1. Time in scripture seeing how God invites people to join in God's mission
2. Time teaching and training about ways leaders can help see possibilities for how people can join in within the context of your organization - includes expanding the leadership base, creative new ideas, and outreach to invite neighbors into your shared work.
3. How does working together translate to concrete actions and maybe even new work and creative work?
4. Helpful exercises and discussion for leaders to process and practice "raising the bar" on getting other people (and new people) involved in working with God in mission!

You'll need access to a good broadband internet connection and will benefit from a projector to show the visual web content to your group. For audio you can use either a phone hookup with a speakerphone or use Skype and computer speakers so you can hear together. Materials will be provided as PDF files and sent ahead for you to make copies of handouts and guides for your group to use at the retreat.
